【来源】
为蔷薇科植物樱桃的果核。植物形态详"樱桃"条。
【采集】
取成熟果实放置缸中，用手揉搓，使果肉与果核分离，然后洗去果肉，取净核晒干。
【药材】
干燥果核呈扁卵形，长8～12毫米，直径7～9毫米，顶端略尖而微歪，如鸟喙状，另一端有圆形凹人的小孔，外表面白色或淡黄色，有不明显的小凹点，腹缝线微凸出，背缝线明显而突出，其两侧具2条纵向突起的肋纹。质坚硬，不易破碎。核内有种子1枚，表面呈不规则皱缩，红黄色，久置呈褐色。种仁淡黄色，富油质。气微香，味微苦。以饱满、淡黄白色、无杂质者为佳。
【功用主治】
透疹，解毒。治麻疹透发不畅；消疽瘤，灭瘢痕。 ①《滇南本草图说》："痘症色白陷顶不升浆者，为末敷之，可以升浆起长。" ②《本草再新》："败毒，消疽瘤。" ③《江苏植药志》："治麻疹透发不快；煎水洗净疮，灭瘢痕。"
【用法与用量】
内服：煎汤，1～3钱。外用：磨汁涂或煎水洗。
【宜忌】
《滇南本草图说》："痘症阳症忌服。"
【选方】
①治出痘喉哑：甜樱桃核二十枚。砂锅内焙黄色，煎汤服。(《纲目拾遗》) ②治眼皮生瘤：樱桃核磨水搽之，其瘤渐渐自消。(《医学指南》)
