性质:板状晶体(由石油醚重结晶)。熔点55~56℃。升华后得针状结晶。易溶于乙醇、乙醚、氯仿、醋酸、二硫化碳、苯,能溶于石油醚、热水。溴代氢醌的水溶液中加入三氯化铁,进行氧化后,以二硫化碳萃取而得。用作有机合成原料。其衍生物:(1)1-肟(3-溴-4-亚硝基苯酚),橙色结晶,熔点188℃(分解)。(2)4-肟(2-溴-4-亚硝基苯酚),淡绿黄色板状结晶,熔点196℃。
