【植物形态】
华凤仙 一年生草本，高30～60厘米。茎下部伏地，生根，上部直立，节上有2至多枚托叶状的刺毛。叶对生，线形或线状长圆形至倒卵形，长2～10厘米，宽0.5～1厘米，先端短尖或钝，基部浑圆或近心形，边缘有疏离的小硬尖刺；叶柄极短或无柄。花粉红色或白色，腋生，单生或数个聚生，径约1～2厘米；花梗长；外面的萼片延伸成细尾状，并内弯成钩形；旗瓣圆形，渐尖，翼瓣半边倒卵形，基部一侧有耳。蒴果椭圆形，中部膨大。花期夏季。 生于潮湿地或水边、田边。分布广东、广西、浙江、江西、福建、云南等地。

味微苦辛，性平。

清热解毒，活血散瘀，消肿拔脓。
