| 筑波大学 Tsukuba，University of 日本综合性高等学校。校址在东京东北茨城县筑波山麓。根据1973年日本国会通过的《筑波大学法案》，以东京教育大学为基础扩建而成。此后日本政府又在该地区新建43个教育和研究机构，形成筑波科技中心。筑波大学不是采用日本传统大学的学部、学科制，而是建立学群、学类和专攻领域等新的教学组织形式，以及新的研究组织形式——学系，旨在培养视野广阔的学生和开展跨学科的科学研究。学群和学类分别负责对学生进行总的和具体的教育指导。学生在学群所设的某一学类中学习，学类是学生编组班级的基础。设有6个学群：第一学群为基础学群，下设人文、社会、自然3个学类；第二学群为文化、生物学群，下设比较文化、人类、生物、农林4个学类；第三学群为经营、工学学群，下设社会工学、信息、基础工学3个学类；另有医学、体育、艺术3个专门学群，不设学类，直接设专攻领域。作为研究组织的学系有26个，教师按各自的专业分别归属相应的学系。除医学专门学群的学制为5年外，其余各学群均为4年制。研究生院设硕士课程（2年）和博士课程（5年）。硕士课程有8个研究科，博士课程有18个研究科。
