格调说

    中国古代的一种论诗主张。为明代前七子、后七子和清代沈德潜所提倡。它强调格调在诗歌创作中的作用。格调,即体格声调。最早的解释包括思想内容和声律形式两方面,到明代前后七子,才把格调作为一个决定性环节来构成他们的诗歌理论。前后七子的诗歌理论并不完全一致,但格调在他们的诗歌理论中都占有比较突出的地位。前七子的代表人物李梦阳强调“格古,调逸”,后七子的代表人物王世贞认为:“才生思,思生调,调生格。思即才之用,调即思之境,格即调之界。”他们都把格调作为论诗的重要环节。前后七子的格调说在当时起了积极的作用,并产生很大影响。沈德潜虽强调格调,但更强调封建伦理道德规范对于格调的重要性。认为“忠孝”和“温柔敦厚”是格调的最终依据。沈德潜的格调说提出后,遭到许多人的批评。后逐渐衰颓。
