我校创建于1902年，经过一百多年的发展，逐步形成了占地面积10.27亩，39个教学班的现有规模。十多年来，学校紧随改革开放的步伐，遵照《中国教育改革和发展纲要》精神，全面贯彻教育方针，积极进行教学改革，坚持德、育、智、体、美、劳五育并举，德育为首、教学为主、育人为本的原则，全面关心学生身心健康和文化生活，注重教育的整体优化，教育教学质量稳步提高。
学校现有行政办公楼一幢，教学楼3幢，拥有多媒体教育、图书馆、实验室、音乐室、计算机教室、卫生室等教学辅助用房，教学仪器、电教设备、音体美劳卫器材按省农村小学ⅱ类标准配备。
学校现有专任教师85人，是一支结构合理、年富力强、素质优良、具有敬业精神的师资队伍。其中已取得大专以上学历的教师46人，占专任教师的55%，中级职称以上37人，占专任教师大44%。近几年来，学校大兴科教兴校之风，积极鼓励教师开展科研活动，每年均有10多篇教科研论文在县、市级有关评比中获奖或在刊物上发表，每年都有教师在市级优质课评比中获奖。
在上级的关怀和支持下，学校领导集体团结务实、勤政创新，全体教师精心教研，敬业奉献，取得了优良的成绩，自97年以来，学校先后被评为乐清市级先进单位（3次）、巾帼创业杯示范岗、十佳学校、教育科研先进集体、温州市级文明学校、先进单位。
