我校创建于1902年,经过一百多年的发展,逐步形成了占地面积10.27亩,39个教学班的现有规模。十多年来,学校紧随改革开放的步伐,遵照《中国教育改革和发展纲要》精神,全面贯彻教育方针,积极进行教学改革,坚持德、育、智、体、美、劳五育并举,德育为首、教学为主、育人为本的原则,全面关心学生身心健康和文化生活,注重教育的整体优化,教育教学质量稳步提高。
学校现有行政办公楼一幢,教学楼3幢,拥有多媒体教育、图书馆、实验室、音乐室、计算机教室、卫生室等教学辅助用房,教学仪器、电教设备、音体美劳卫器材按省农村小学ⅱ类标准配备。
学校现有专任教师85人,是一支结构合理、年富力强、素质优良、具有敬业精神的师资队伍。其中已取得大专以上学历的教师46人,占专任教师的55%,中级职称以上37人,占专任教师大44%。近几年来,学校大兴科教兴校之风,积极鼓励教师开展科研活动,每年均有10多篇教科研论文在县、市级有关评比中获奖或在刊物上发表,每年都有教师在市级优质课评比中获奖。
在上级的关怀和支持下,学校领导集体团结务实、勤政创新,全体教师精心教研,敬业奉献,取得了优良的成绩,自97年以来,学校先后被评为乐清市级先进单位(3次)、巾帼创业杯示范岗、十佳学校、教育科研先进集体、温州市级文明学校、先进单位。
