| 幼儿教育 infant education 教养机构根据一定的培养目标和幼儿的身心特点，对入小学前的幼儿所进行的有计划的教育。又称学前教育。西汉时期编纂的《礼记·内则》中就有关于幼儿教育的记述。中国近代幼儿教育机构始创于清光绪二十九年(1903)，设于湖北武昌，名为蒙养院，1922年定名为幼稚园。欧洲近代幼儿教育产生于18世纪末19世纪初。法国牧师J.F.奥贝兰于1771年在孚日创办了世界上最早的幼儿学校。1802年，英国空想社会主义者R.欧文于苏格兰的新拉纳克创办了一所招收2～6岁工人子女的幼儿园。德国教育家F.W.A.福禄贝尔和意大利教育家M.蒙台梭利对幼儿教育的理论和实践都产生过重要影响。在中国，宋庆龄、陶行知、陈鹤琴、张雪门等对幼儿教育事业也都作出了较大的贡献 。幼儿教育的主要任务是使儿童身心获得正常发展，为进入小学学习做好准备。中国的幼儿教育是社会主义教育事业的组成部分。1981年10月中国颁发的《幼儿园教育纲要(试行草案)》，提出了幼儿教育8个方面的内容，即生活卫生习惯、体育活动、思想品德、语言、常识、计算、音乐和美术。纲要还指出，对幼儿全面发展的教育内容要贯穿在游戏、体育活动、上课、观察、劳动、娱乐等全部生活与活动之中。
