水仙属石蒜科水仙属植物,原产我国,在我国已有一千多年栽培历史,为我国传统名花之一。
水仙,又称天葱、雅蒜、水仙花等。因多为水养,且叶姿秀美,花香浓郁,亭亭玉立水中,故有"凌波仙子"的雅号。水仙主要颁布于我国东南沿海温暖、湿润地区,以福建漳州、厦门及上海崇明岛最为有名。
水仙为多年生草本植物,鳞茎肥大,呈球状,外披棕褐色皮膜,茎基部生有白色肉质根。水仙的叶由鳞茎顶端绿白色筒状鞘中抽出花茎(俗称箭)再由叶片中抽出。一般每个鳞茎可抽花茎1-2枝,多者可达8-11枝,伞状花序。
中国水仙主要有两品系:
(1)单瓣型:花单瓣,白色,花被6裂,中心有一金黄色环状副冠,故称"金盏银台"亦名"酒杯水仙";若副冠呈白色,花多,叶梢细者,则称"银盏玉台"。
(2)重瓣型:花重瓣,白色,花被12裂,卷成一簇,称为"百叶水仙"或"玉玲珑",花形不如单瓣的美,香气亦较差,是水仙的变种。
