①词调体式之一。指篇幅短小的词。通常以五十八字以内的短词为小令，如《十六字令》、《如梦令》等。但词中称“令”的，并非都是小令，如“百字令”即有百字之多。②散曲体式之一。体制短小，通常只有一支曲子，并且一韵到底。但也有例外，如“摘调”、“带过曲”、“集曲”、“重头”等，是小令的特殊形式。③元、明时民间流行的小曲也称为小令。
