| 罗素(1872～1970) Russell，Bertrand Arthur William 英国哲学家，数学家，逻辑学家。分析哲学的主要创始人，世界和平运动的倡导者和组织者 。1872年5月18日生于英国曼摩兹郡的特雷克，卒于1970年2月2日。1890年考入剑桥大学三一学院，后曾两度在该校任教，1908年当选为皇家学会会员，50年代先后获诺贝尔文学奖和世界和平奖。20年代初曾到中国讲学。罗素不仅在哲学、逻辑和数学上成就显著，而且在教育学、社会学、政治学和文学等许多领域都有建树。他一生的哲学观点多变，20世纪以后大体可分为新实在论和逻辑原子论两个阶段，多元论和逻辑分析方法则是贯穿于他全部哲学思想的方法论特征。罗素始终以追求确定性为最高目的，并致力于构筑精确的哲学。他把逻辑分析看作是哲学的本质，认为哲学上的进步主要由分析得来。著述甚丰，主要有《数学原理》（3卷，与A.怀特海合著)、《哲学问题》等。
