| 农奴主 serf owner 占有土地和其他生产资料，统治和剥削农奴的封建地主。农奴主在其占有的领地内，派管家、监工用各种残暴手段强迫农奴提供劳役、实物和货币。农奴主可以任意惩罚农奴，没收农奴的财产，也可以将其连同土地一齐出卖、抵押或转让。农奴主在其领地内拥有行政权和司法权，有的还有征收赋税，铸造货币等特权。这种农奴主统治下的农奴制在欧洲从5世纪末到9世纪中叶占据主要地位，后随着农奴的不断起义和商品货币的发展，到14、15世纪逐渐解体。欧洲农奴制的废除为资本主义的发展创造了条件。中国的西藏直至1959年民主改革前还存在农奴主。西藏的农奴主包括地方政府官员、贵族、寺庙的主持人。农奴主以奴役性条件给农奴小块份地，以各种残酷手段强制农奴劳动，对农奴虽然一般不能任意杀害，但可以残酷惩罚。西藏的农奴主实行政教合一，通过宗教以加强其统治。 |
