This paper introduces the principle of fission track age measurement method and measures the geologic age of the detrital sedimentary in the members from Dalianhe Formation to Baoquanling Formation of Lower Tertiary in Tangyuan Rift with this method.

This paper studies the Ostracode fossils discoveried in lower Tertiary system in Tangyuan downchasm, sets up two fossil assemblage of Ostracode , and discusses the geologic periods of Dalianhe and Baoquanling Formations containing Ostracode fossils.
