中国研究法国历史的群众性学术团体。1979年成立。会址设在上海华东师范大学,现有会员150人。领导机构为会员大会选举产生的理事会,现任第3届理事会产生于1987年。理事会聘请沈练之、王养冲、端木正、戚佑烈教授为名誉会长。选举北京大学张芝联教授为会长,另有副会长、秘书长、理事若干人。研究会的宗旨是：以马克思主义为指导、贯彻百花齐放、百家争鸣方针、团结和组织全国法国史教学和研究工作者,促进本学科的发展,增进中法两国人民的友谊和学术交流。具体任务是提出法国史的研究课题；组织学术报告会、讨论会；组织编译法国史资料、撰写论著；开展国际学术交流活动。
研究会成立以来召开了多次学术讨论会。讨论的主要问题有：法国大革命的分期、M.F.M.I.de罗伯斯比尔与恐怖政策、热月政变的性质、拿破仑一世的评价、巴黎公社的原则、1945年以后的法国等。研究会会刊为《法国史通讯》(已出9期)，并编有《法国史论文集》(人民出版社1984年出版)。
