四川卧龙级国家级自然保护区
位于四川省阿坝藏族自治州汶川县境内,面积20万公顷,1975年经国务院批准建立,1980年加入联合国教科文组织国际“人与生物圈”保护区网,主要保护对象为大熊猫及森林生态系统。
本区地处岷江上游、邛崃山的东坡,属中亚热带湿润气候,最高峰海拔6250米,相对高差达5000米,为青藏高原向四川盆地过渡的高山峡谷区。本区的地带性植被属于中亚热带常绿阔叶林,但随着海拔的升高而形成的水热条件的变化,植被类型相应出现有规律的垂直变化。
在海拔2100-3600米的温带针阔叶混交林带和亚高山针叶林带,云杉、冷杉林下生长成片茂密的箭竹,为珍稀孓遗动物大熊猫最适宜的生存环境。本区动植物区系组成复杂,资源丰富,高等植物有1810种,其中国家重点保护植物有珙桐、香果树、连香树、红豆杉等;高等动物有348种,其中国家重点保护动物有大熊猫、金丝猴、羚牛、白唇鹿等40多种。保护区建立以来,在大熊猫保护和研究方面取得了显著成绩,已成了大熊猫研究的中心。
