From the perspective of the pictorial in Hills Like White Elephants, this paper interprets the application of the three painting techniques of literal collage, leaving blanks and plane angle in the novel and shows that by this means of interpretation the text itself is not subtle but very structural.

Take "Hills like White Elephants" as an example and reveal Hemingway\'s iceberg writing style through analyzing the author\'s creative methods such as simple,straightforward style of writing,the writing makeup,symbol and abbreviation,and etc.

In his works,he has applied techniques of parody,irony and collage and experimented in his language.
