由于战乱等历史原因,与杨、范、陆三家相比,尤袤诗作流传不多,后世对其研究也甚少,甚至有学者对其诗名持怀疑态度,然而考察当时的诗坛状况可知,尤袤的得名确有充足证据,绝非偶然,同时考察其少数存诗,亦可知尤诗内容广泛,且细润圆熟、温厚骚雅,特色鲜明,确能担当"中兴诗人"的美誉。
