The stipulation of the compensation duration in Grain for Green Regulation which should be abandoned fails to provide a full protection in terms of the peasants’interests, by the absence of the appropriate theoretic basis, the practice support and the support by system.

Meeting the shortcomings of current economic compensation policies for grain-to-forest,this paper makes an empirical analysis based on investigation data of loess plateau area,and finally used the method of income growth and the method of land expropriation respectively to fix reasonable compensation standards and the length of compensation period.
