斯里兰卡12世纪散文作家、学者。有"智慧之神"、"众人之师"之称。 他著有 《法灯》和《圣水浩荡》二书。《法灯》是为乌帕帝沙长老所著巴利文《大菩提史》写的注疏,比较详细地阐明了佛法,内容丰富,语言艰深,但描写生动。《圣水浩荡》的文字较为浅显,它的内容取自《三藏经》,着重颂扬佛陀的第六大德,同时也讲述佛陀的生平事迹,开创了用散文颂佛的先例。它对印度婆罗门教的种姓歧视和压迫进行了讽刺和抨击。
