According !to the historical documents,this paper proves that in terms of philology and phonology,the original name for "wen zi" should be pronounced as "shu" and "qi",and that "wen" and "zi" are the loan characters of the original ones.

　　南宋人所著关于辽朝的纪传体史书。二十七卷。旧题叶隆礼撰。隆礼号渔林，嘉兴人，生卒年不详。淳祐七年(1247)进士，由建康府通判，历官秘书丞，奉诏撰次辽事为该书。今书前附《进契丹国志表》，末署"淳熙七年(1180)三月秘书丞臣叶隆礼上表"。显误。论者谓淳熙应为淳祐之讹。然当年及第，即奉诏修书，且于三月以前撰成上进，亦不可信。又有谓淳熙为咸淳之误，咸淳七年(1271)于理较近。该书为南宋人奉敕编次，所取皆南朝所存有关北朝的资料，与元人所编《辽史》主要根据辽朝《实录》有所不同,虽不免传闻失实之辞,亦存直书不隐之论，足资参考。纪传之外，卷首附《契丹国初兴本末》、《契丹国九主年谱》，末附《蕃将除授职名》、《汉官除授职名》。又收录部分档案材料：石晋降表二、澶渊誓书二、关南誓书三（契丹致宋书、宋朝回契丹书、契丹回宋誓书）、议割地界书二。另有南、北朝馈献礼物单及宋朝劳契丹人使物件。对州县及四京本末，周邻的少数民族风俗制度，岁时仪制，都有所记载，并附有宋人入辽行程录。它是宋朝所存有关契丹的材料的总汇。旧有承恩堂本、扫叶山房本及国学文库诸版本，1985年，上海古籍出版社出版贾敬颜、林荣贵的校点本，系以元刻本为底本与其他版本参校的较好版本。
