性别角色文化变异(eultural variationsin sex role)在不同文化背景下所表现出来的性别角色差异。人类学家米德(Mead，M.)曾考察过新几内亚岛上的三个原始部族，证实了不同文化中性别角色规范的不同。在阿来别什(A raPesh)部族中，男女的心理行为是平和的、温顺的、合作的、无攻击性的、无竞争性的、助人为乐的。在曼都左玛(Mundugumur)部族正相反，男女的心理行为是刚毅的、凶悍的、攻击性的、竟争的、残忍的。赞布里(T chambuli)部族，是女刚男柔。女性占据权力地位，是实际操作者、能干的;男性则是温顺的、畏怯的、敏感的。显然，每种文化都有自己对待两性的独特文化模式或规范。 (茜冬舟撰高玉样审)
