A reported speech accounting for a major part of a news report is subject to the news sources, reporting modes and reporting verbs.

In order to fulfill this aim,the paper focuses on the nominalization,reported speech and cultural knowledge which characterize newspaper discourse.

As we know,a necessary component of news is reported speeches.

What is of particular interest here is the speech reporting in news discourses because of the essential role it plays in news reporting.

This research adopts Fairclough\'s three-dimensional framework of CDA and Lefevere\'s theory of manipulation as theoretical basis, precisely resorting to parameters to news reported speech and ideological factors manipulating translation as analytical tools.
