      指各地一般普遍说的词语。见于汉代扬雄的《方言》。例如《方言》卷一说:"嫁,逝,徂,適,往也。自家而出谓之嫁,由(犹)女出为嫁也。逝,秦晋语也;徂,齐语也;適,宋鲁语也。往,凡语也。"这里所说的"凡语"就是一般通行的都可以这样说的话。在扬雄书里有时也说"通语"。
