限娜脚任海上运输中，船舶所有人在其船舶发生事故须要进行赔偿时的」种赔偿责任限制。在海运业务中.船舶所有人须承担两种责任，即运输合同项下的责任属于合同责任，而船舶与他船相撞后引起的责任属第三者责任。两船相撞，如船舶负有过失责任，就要对他船负赔偿责任。只要碰撞船舶的所有人本身并无重大过失，一般都有权通过法院申请限制责任。目前世界各国对限制责任的计算有两种:一种是按船舶的价值和从事的航程所得的运费总和作为船舶所有人应负的最高责任限额;另一种是按船舶吨位数计算责任限额。
