秘鲁剧作家。生于利马。青年时期从事新闻工作。曾到法国留学。回国后,创办利马戏剧俱乐部,从事革新秘鲁戏剧的活动。1947年，第一部剧本《爱情，伟大的迷宫》获得秘鲁的戏剧奖。1951年，第二部剧本《罗迪尔》又获奖。随后的剧本有：《打算死的东西》、《像来时那样地走了》、《都在家》、《没有幸福岛》。最后这部剧本是他的力作，展示了秘鲁专制独裁统治的罪恶。他的作品显示出他观察社会的深刻。他善于处理复杂的心理问题，运用民间口语而不流俗。他的独幕剧如《新娘新郎》、《箱子里的人》、《天空里没有石油》，带有强烈的讽刺性和夸张性，有时达到荒诞惊人的程度。
