This paper introduces and comments on the main teaching approaches in China, including: the product approach, the process approach, the genre approach, the task-based approach, the length Approach.

For the sake of realistic problems in college students writing and the weak condition of English writing teaching,this paper analyzes the different teaching approaches,from product approach to genre approach,to process approach and to task-based approach,and finds their advantages and disadvantages.
