| 黄秉维（1913～ ） 中国地理学家。中国科学院院士。1913年2月1日生于广东惠阳（今惠州）。1934年毕业于中山大学地理系。历任浙江大学史地系讲师、副教授，华东工业部工业经济研究所副所长，中国科学院地理研究所研究员、所长，中国地理学会理事长、名誉理事长等职。1964年当选为罗马尼亚科学院名誉通讯院士。1979年当选 为美国地理学会会员。1980年被授予英国皇家地理学会名誉通讯会员，同年受聘为国际山地学会顾问。
黄秉维长期致力于中国自然环境和自然资源的研究。50年代起研究黄土高原土壤侵蚀与保持，划分了黄土高原土壤侵蚀的方式，编制了中国第一幅1∶400万黄河中游土壤侵蚀图、水力和风力侵蚀程度图；主持中国自然区划工作，主编的《中国综合自然区划》是首次着眼于农林牧水发展的综合区划，是中国第一部最详尽而系统的全国自然区划专著。该成果获1978年全国科学大会重大科技成果奖。强调自然地理学的综合研究，1956年就提出自然地理应分别探讨地表的物理、化学和生物过程，并加以综合研究。60年代在中国先行开展地表热量水分平衡研究，推动化学地理研究。70年代致力于农业自然生产潜力的研究，主持建立了北京农业生态系统试验站 ，并推动了河流地貌 、水分平衡 试验等实验室（场）的建立。80年代以后致力于坡地利用与改良及全球环境变化的研究。他的主要成果多次获奖，重要著述及论文达100余篇（种）。 |
