| 蚬木 Excentrodendron hsienmu 椴树科蚬木属半常绿大乔木。木材横断面具高度偏心年轮，很像蚬壳环纹，故名。在中国产于广西、贵州、云南等地，垂直分布至海拔900米。木材坚重，结构均匀，干缩性小，耐腐抗虫，为船舶、水工、机械等优质良材。树高达30米以上。具板状根。叶革质，椭圆卵形或阔卵形，全缘或波状。花单性，雌雄异株，雄花白色，腋生复聚伞花序。蒴果狭圆状（见图）。阳性偏阴树种，幼年耐荫，以后逐步喜光。抗寒性弱，低于0℃幼树枯梢，甚至死亡。适生肥沃的钙质土壤。耐旱性强，土壤排水不良甚至短暂积水，都可导致死亡。生长速度中等。采种后两个月种子完全失去发芽率，因此宜随采随播。1.5年生苗高70厘米即可出圃造林。蚬木萌芽力强，也可进行萌芽更新。
