描述SymplocarpusSalisb.臭松属.天南星科，只有臭松S.foetidus（L.）Salisb.1种，分布于东亚和北美，我国东北亦产之。粗壮草本，有臭味；地下茎粗壮，隔年生叶生花；叶大，浅心形或心状卵形，厚革质，柄有长鞘；花序柄极短；佛焰苞罩状，厚革质，有弯喙，宿存；肉穗花序内藏；有长柄，青紫色；花两性，无附属体，全部结实；花被片4，长楔形；雄蕊4，突出，花药顶生，侧面纵裂；子房伸长，1室，花柱长，四角形；胚珠单生；浆果沉没于肉质的中轴上。
