蛇绿岩 ophiolite 一组由蛇纹石化超镁铁岩、基性侵入杂岩和基性熔岩以及海相沉积物构成的岩套。又称蛇绿岩套。由法国A.布龙尼亚于1827年提出,曾音译为奥菲奥岩。 蛇绿岩的代表层序自下而上是:橄榄岩、辉长岩、席状基性岩墙和基性熔岩以及海相沉积物,其中橄榄岩和辉长岩在层序上可以重复多次。在构造运动中,由于上覆岩层中水的释放,橄榄岩普遍蛇纹石化,密度降低,易于抬起和塑性变形,发生显著构造位移。上述火成岩之上的沉积剖面为泥质和砂质岩石,可含燧石和石灰岩。世界各地蛇绿岩层序有很大的相似性,可与现代洋底层序对比,所以一般认为蛇绿岩是贴附于大陆边缘或岛弧上的洋壳碎片。然而,由于洋壳的消减作用、构造侵位或逆掩推覆,使蛇绿岩层序的完整性受到破坏,在某些地段只能见到该层序的部分组成或杂乱堆积的混杂岩块。与蛇绿岩深成岩浆作用有关的矿产是铬、铂、金、镍等,在低凹地可形成铁、铜、锰矿床。蛇绿岩中普遍伴生的蛇纹石,是重要的非金属矿产。 |
