补充资料：南澳总兵府
总兵府是明清时代的称呼，是南澳总兵的衙署，位于广东汕头市 深澳镇大衙口。最初建于明朝万历四年（1576年），是当时的南澳副总兵晏继芳建造的。万历九年，副总兵侯继高增建总兵府的后楼，成为一个完整的总兵衙署。以后历经多次修缮。现在的建筑是1983年重新修建的。
由于南澳岛地处东南沿海要冲，介于粤东与闽南之间，是军事要地，封建统治者怕这里拥兵自重，所以一个小小海岛竟划分由广东和福建共管。中间由雄镇关做为分界线。明清时海禁很严，朝廷限制愈厉害，民间走私活动愈猖獗。加上外有倭寇的侵扰，内有海盗盘踞，朝廷派驻的士兵越来越多，南澳的规格也逐步升级，最后成为管制闽粤台的重要军事基地。
明清两朝，到南澳上任的总兵副总兵共有157任147人，他们都为国家的海防建设作出过贡献。现在衙署已辟为博物馆，保存有许多重要海防资料。
总兵府前有两棵大榕树，据说已有410年的树龄，其中一棵树围达14米，枝叶繁茂，生机旺盛。据说明朝末年郑成功曾在树下讲演，招兵去收复台湾。所以这树后人又称“招兵树”。1997年树下又增置郑成功花岗岩雕像一座。
总兵府前现遗存有八千斤，六千斤土炮各一尊。据炮上铭文，是清代道光二十年（1840年）铸造，两尊炮原分别架设于深澳草寮尾和深澳东门外，1984年移放于此。总兵府右侧院墙上镶嵌着23块历代南澳保存的古碑，其中一块是中国最早的港务约法，一块税务碑，具有重要的历史文物价值。
