性质:铪和碳的化合物为主要成分的陶瓷。碳化铪(HfC)理论密度12.7g/cm3,熔点3890℃,是已知单一化合物中熔点最高者。体积电阻率1.95×10-4Ω·cm(2900℃),热膨胀系数6.73×10-6/℃。通常用二氧化铪(HfO2)与碳在惰性或还原性气氛中合成粉末,反应温度1900~2300℃,用热压烧结法或热等静压法制出高密度陶瓷甜品。碳化铪能与许多化合物(如ZrC、TaC等)形成固溶体。如组分为HfC-4TaC的复合碳化物,其显微结构呈二相:一相为碳化铪-碳化钽的共晶体;另一相为外形比是50:1的针状的游离石墨相。这种“近共晶”碳化铪(HfC)制品具有良好热稳定性和高的熔点,可作火箭喷管的喉部材料。
