法国国家档案馆的分馆之一。1977年建成使用，因设在距巴黎65公里的枫丹白露而得名。建筑面积为 8.9万平方米，分地上和地下两部分，地下为该馆的主体部分，含10个面积相等的库房，每个库房可容纳 8万米档案。它负责收存法国现行中央机关的非现行档案，每年约接收2.7万米档案。它只对档案移交机关提供服务,不向社会开放。馆内安装了电子计算机系统，贮存了档案形成单位、编号、入库时间、存放位置、保管期限等信息，还用于保持库房的恒温、恒湿以及库房管理。 该馆配备有档案特派员专司对档案移交机关的档案进行监督和检查。
