| 南亚语系 Austro-Asiatic family 又称澳斯特罗-亚细亚语系。分布于中国云南的西南部，及南亚和东南亚。约包括150种语言，其中多数语言各有许多方言，使用人口约4000万。南亚语系通常分为4个语族：孟-高棉语族、蒙（扪）达语族、马六甲语族和尼科巴语族。中国境内的佤语、布朗语和德昂语属于此语系。语音方面，南亚语系诸语言的主要特点是辅音系统比较整齐。塞音清浊的对立比较普遍，有独立的清音送气系列。元音系统比较丰富，元音常区分为高、前、中、后4级。除越南语等少数语言有声调外，南亚语系诸语言通常都不是声调语言。语法方面，句子的一般语序为主语—动词—宾语；形容词通常跟在它所修饰的名词后面。词汇方面，词的结构通常是一个主要音节，有时前面可再加上一个次要音节。大多数词根都是单音节的。南亚语系诸语言常常从邻近的或有影响的大语种借词。动物名称往往是禁忌词语，因而多使用别称。文字方面，孟语和高棉语的文字传统最古老，字母形状和书写原则都来自印度文字。但该语系大多数语言只是近百年来才有文字。 |
