According to the principle of bio-diversity conservation,the change pattern of the species diversity in gaps of different sizes and developmental stages in Castanopsis kawakamii forest was measured and analyzed by means of Margalef index,Shannon-Wiener index,Pielou index,Simpson index and Evenness dominance diversity index.

Four models including Г distribution,log-normal distribution,Weibull distribution and normal distribution were used to simulate the species abundance distribution of arbor layer,shrub layer,vine layer and herb layer of Castanopsis kawakamii forest.
