【来源】
为苦苣苔科植物中华被萼苣苔的全草。
【植物形态】
中华被萼苣苔 多年生草本，高约26厘米。根茎短粗，柱状，黑褐色，有极密的环纹。叶对生，紧接；叶片坚纸质，卵圆形至长圆形，长3～7厘米，宽1.5～3.5厘米，先端锐尖，基部宽楔形至斜心形，上面深绿色，下面浅褐色，密被小茸毛，边缘有浅齿；叶柄长2.5～5.5厘米。聚伞花序腋生；基部有迟脱落的大苞片；花葶长约11厘米；花淡紫色。钟状，5裂。蒴果狭圆柱形，长约2厘米。花期夏季。 生长于林下及山坡石缝中。分布云南、广西等地。

全年可采，洗净，鲜用或晒干备用。
【性味】
苦，凉。
【功用主治】
疏风清热，凉血止痢.
【选方】
①治痢疾，哮喘：石青菜一至三钱，煎服。 ②治荨麻疹：鲜石青菜适量，煎水洗患处。(性味以下出《云南中草药选》) ③治外伤出血：石青菜干粉适量包敷创面。(《文山中草药》)
