      鞘翅目叶甲科叶甲亚科昆虫的 1种(见图)。是重要的国际检疫对象。原发生于美国落基山区,为害茄科的一种野生植物Solanum rostratum。随着美洲大陆的开发,当马铃薯的栽培向西扩展到落基山区时,立刻遭到这种甲虫的严重为害。此后,这种甲虫又向东扩散,速度很快。现已知英国、法国、荷兰、比利时、卢森堡、德国、西班牙、葡萄牙、瑞士、奥地利、南斯拉夫、捷克斯洛伐克、波兰都有发生。成虫体长10毫米,卵圆形。橘黄色,头、胸部和腹面散布大小不同的黑斑,各足跗节和膝关节黑色,每鞘翅上有5个黑色纵条纹,相当艳丽。成虫在地下越冬。在春季马铃薯出土时,越冬成虫出现,产卵于叶子反面,每雌产卵300~500粒。老熟幼虫入土化蛹。一年发生1~3代。除对马铃薯造成毁灭性灾害外,还为害番茄、茄子、辣椒、烟草等茄科植物。
