形态特征:
株高1.5-3m,原种块根圆柱状,肉质,含在一定历史条件下的淀粉。叶互生,长10-20cm,掌状3-7深裂或全裂,在浓绿色叶片的中心部位有较大面积的白色或黄色斑纹。

分布与习性:
原产巴西,世界各热带地区广泛栽培。为直立亚灌木。喜高温,多湿和充足的阳光。在土层深厚,肥沃的土壤上生长良好。怕寒冷,越冬温度应在15℃以上。

繁殖与栽培:
主要靠扦插法繁殖。在高温季节,扦插易成活。

应用:
用于热带地区的城乡绿化和美化。
