From Social Forestry to Community Forestry——Changing from D epartment-run Forestry to Society-run Forestry;

The current status of community forestry,the traditional utilization and management approaches of the natural resources,the present institutional system of the nature reserve management and relationship among the reserve management institute,local governments and the communities were also investigated.

Community forestry is grounded on sociology, economics, ecology and management science, and the theoretical tools it relied on mainly base on the theory of participatory development, stakeholder analysis, stratum analysis and gender analysis.

The investigation and assessment method designed through collecting information on relations between life of villagers with forests to analyze the effect of forests on villages development is called community forestry assessment(CFA).
