龟石在西峰杨公塔西侧，绝崖边缘有一巨石，形态如龟，呈翘首远望态。古游记中对石多有记述。石西为万丈深谷，每当多云时节，云自谷出，涌动翻滚与峰齐，石龟如浮海上，时隐时现，异常生动。游人中胆大者常坐在石上留影，称“驾龟渡海”。
