每一民族的经济、文化和政治的外部表现。它是在民族长期历史发展过程中形成的。不同的民族在服饰、饮食、住宅等生活方式和习俗方面各有其不同的形式。处在同一种社会形态下的各民族，由于他们的语言文字和文化传统的差异，又各自创造出独特的经济和政治形式。在文学艺术方面，民族形式表现尤其明显。正是由于各民族的情况不一，对马克思主义的应用，必须和民族的特点相结合,经过一定的民族形式,才有用处。社会主义的文化也要通过一定的民族形式才能得到发展。当然，随着社会的发展，民族形式也必将相应地发展变化。
