虎跳石位于盈江县城西南17千米的坝尾山边,数百米宽的大盈江,流到这里一下收束成七八米。两座冲天而立的石壁,像两扇半开的山门,封住了大江的去路。狂怒的江水拍打着江中峥嵘乱石,激起冲天水柱和浪花, 雷霆般的轰鸣,翻卷着穿过石壁,再加上户撒河飞帘倾注,给人一种吞天化地之感。从虎跳石沿江而下,步行数百米,就到了落水洞。洞口乱石嶙峋,江水咆哮着往洞里猛灌,江水穿过石洞,又从石峰中倾泻而出,溅起碎玉般的水珠,散成漫天的水雾,随风飘逸,在阳光的照射下,形成了道道彩虹。
