也叫“对联”、“对子”。悬挂或粘贴在壁间柱上的联语。春节时贴在门上的对联叫“春联”。字数无定规，但两联须相等。旧时要求对仗工整，平仄协调，是旧体诗词的演变。相传始于五代后蜀主孟昶在寝门桃符板上的题词“新年纳余庆，嘉节号长春”。宋代推广用在楹柱上，后又普遍用于装饰和交际庆吊。
