宋周子撰。周子之学以主静为宗。平生精粹，尽於《太极图说》、《通书》之中。词章非所留意，故当时未有文集。陈振孙《书录解题》载有文集七卷者，後人之所编辑，非其旧也。故振孙称是集遗文才数篇为一卷，馀皆附录。则在宋代已勉强掇合，为数无多矣。此本亦不知何人所编。凡遗书、杂著二卷，图谱二卷，其後五卷则皆诸儒议论及志传、祭文。与宋本不甚相合，而大致亦不甚相远。盖後人病其篇目寂寥，又取所著二书编之集内，以取盈卷帙耳。眀嘉靖间，漳浦王会曾为刊行。国朝康熙初，其裔孙沈珂。又校正重。先儒著述，学者所宗，固不以其太少而废之。原本後附《遗芳集》五卷，乃沈珂辑其先世文章事迹，自为一编。与本集不相比附，今别人之总集类，不使相淆。集中《爱莲说》一篇，江昱《潇湘听雨录》力攻其出於依讬。然亦别无显证。流传已久，今仍并录之焉。
