1．改善植物生长条件
在土壤中施用有机肥、木屑和蘑菇下脚料等有机质，改善土壤结构，为植物提供好的生长环境。同时在光滑的墙面上拉铁丝网或农用塑料网，或用木糠、沙子、水泥按2:3:5的比例混合后刷到墙上，以增加墙面粗糙度，利于攀援植物向上攀爬。
2．加强水肥管理
在立体墙面上安装滴灌系统，既能保证植物的水分供应，又可提高墙面的湿润度，利于植物攀爬。每年春秋季各施一次牲畜粪肥或蘑菇肥等有机肥，每月薄施复合肥，保证植物有足够的养分供应。
3．人工牵引
靠墙插放小竹片，牵引和按压枝蔓，促使植株尽快向墙上攀爬。
4．整形修剪
棚架式整形，可先在近地面处重剪，促其发出数条强壮主蔓，然后诱引主蔓垂直生长，均匀分布侧蔓，很快便可成为阴棚；凉廊式整形，不宜过早将植株引至廊顶，否则侧面易空虚；篱壁式整形，可将侧蔓进行水平引诱，每年对其进行短截，以形成整齐的篱垣形式；吸附类植物的附壁式整形，只需将藤蔓引于墙面，使其自行逐渐布满墙面，一般不剪蔓。整形完成后，应适当对下垂枝和弱枝进行修剪，促进植物生长，防止因枝蔓过厚而脱落或引发病虫害。
