性质:针状晶体。熔点198-200℃(分解),易溶于DMF、吡啶,溶于丙酮、乙醇,微溶于甲醇,不溶于氯仿、苯、醚。其钠盐([27164-46-1])为白色或微黄色粉末。难溶于甲醇、乙醇,不溶于丙酮、氯仿。干燥时稳定,水溶液的稳定性较差。

制备方法:以头孢菌素C为原料制得。

用途:半合成广谱头孢菌素。抗菌机理、抗菌谱、适应症均与头孢噻吩相似。对革兰氏性菌弱于后者。但对革兰氏阴性菌比后者强得多,尤其对肺炎杆菌有效,对大肠杆菌比头孢噻吩强,对肺炎球菌作用仅次于青霉素而优于其他抗生素。血清蛋白结合率74-86%。在肝、肾、心、脾、肺、肌肉等组织中浓度高。用于上述器官敏感菌感染。特别是用于一些严重感染。临床治疗呼吸系统及泌尿系感染疗效显著。
