【来源】
为唇形科植物刺蕊草的全草。
【植物形态】
刺蕊草 直立草本，基部木质化。茎方形，绿色或淡红色，节膨大。叶对生；有柄；卵圆形，边缘有锯齿，先端渐尖，基部阔楔形或浅心形。穗状花序腋生或顶生；花轮多数，密集，花白色；萼齿5；花冠2唇形，4裂；雄蕊4，突出，花丝有毛；雌蕊1，花柱2裂。小坚果，椭圆形，腹面有棱平滑，长约1.5～2毫米，棕黄色。 生于路旁、荒地或山坡林下潮湿处。分布云南等地。
【采集】
夏、秋采集，晒干。
【性味】
苦，凉。
【功用主治】
清热解毒，凉血止血。治肺结核咳血，吐血，急性胃肠炎。
【用法与用量】
内服：煎汤，1～2两。
