用途：硬脂酸镉用作聚氯乙烯树脂加工中的耐热光透明稳定剂，高级橡胶制品（如医用手套和薄膜）的光滑剂和透明软化剂，油漆瓷器着色剂等。使用该类稳定剂可改善制品的透明性，提高光稳定性。在树脂加工中有防止析出粘附的效果。
