      既规定修业年限而又实行学分制的高等学校的教学管理制度。现代实行学分制的各国高等学校基本上是采用这种教学管理制度。凡是规定修业年限的高等学校,不论年限长短,都规定了一定的修习学分,有些同门类、同专业的高等学校互相承认在各校修习的学分,可以衔接转入他校。在美国等国家实行学分制的二年制的初级大学、社区大学和其他类型的规定修业年限的短期大学,毕业后也可转入同门类、同专业的四年制或四年以上学制大学继续学业。不规定修业年限而带有普及高等教育性质的学校,如流动大学、开放大学等修满一个专业课程的全部学分就准毕业(见学分制、学年制)。
