Imidazolonyl)-1,2,4-triazoles (3) were synthesized via tandem azWittig reaction of vinyliminophosphorane (1) with ar omatic isocynate and 1H-1,2,4-triazole.

A series of new tetrahydrobenzo[4',5']thieno[3',2':5,6]pyrido[4,3-d]pyrimidin-4(3H)-one deriva- tives 6 have been designed and synthesized via a tandem aza-Wittig reaction.
