为唇形科植物香青兰的全草。
【植物形态】
香青兰 一年生草本，高20～60厘米，全株密被短毛，香气较浓。茎四棱形。叶对生；有短柄；叶片长圆状卵形或卵状披针形，长1.5～4厘米，宽7～13毫米，先端钝或稍尖，基部近截形或阔楔形，边缘具钝圆牙齿，两面被细短毛，下面有腺点。花生于茎上部叶腋内，轮伞花序，每6朵成一轮，茎顶部轮较密，呈穗状；苞叶长圃状楔形，在边缘下方有细长芒状的刺毛，小苞长圆状楔形，边缘具长芒状刺毛；萼唇形，上唇3裂，下唇2裂；花冠淡蓝紫色，唇形，长1.8～2.5厘米，上唇稍向下弯，顶端有缺刻，下唇3裂，中间裂片较大，2分裂；雄蕊4，2强；柱头2裂。花期6～8月。果期8～9月。 常生于干燥地，多见于田地、路旁、固定砂丘、草原等处。分布辽宁、吉林、河北、山西、内蒙古、陕西、甘肃等地。
【采集】
8～9月采收全草，晒干。
【功用主治】
《吉林中草药》："解表，清热，止痛。治外感头痛。"
【用法与用量】
内服：煎汤，3～5钱(鲜品1两)。
